Bokeh serves many purposes. It adds an effect that generally either brings your attention to an intended target by surrounding it with out-of-focus light, or is meant to give you a certain feeling (there are many feelings often associated with bokeh such as nostalgia, reverie, happiness, whimsy, soothing, dizzy, fear, it has quite a wide array). While you can do this in iPiccy like I mentioned earlier, it will make your life significantly easier if you set up your bokeh while actually taking the picture.
Bokeh Photography Can Be Tricky
A well-done bokeh background is a unique and beautiful thing to behold. It is certainly a good idea to learn how to create this effect with just your camera and lights, but sometimes you'll need a quick fix. That's why iPiccy Photo Editor has prepared a quick version of the Bokeh effect for you to use! With just a couple of clicks you can make your photo beautiful and lush with the Bokeh effect. It isn't a complete replacement for the skill of Bokeh photography though, keep that in mind!
How To Use Bokeh in iPiccy
There are two different ways you can use Bokeh in iPiccy. One method is simply to have a photo with lights heavily featured, and then use the blur photo effect.
Step 1) Upload your photo to iPiccy Photo Editor, the higher the quality the better.
Step 2) In the first tab scroll all the way down, and click "Blur"
Step 3) Click on the paintbrush icon of the blur tool and use the eraser to keep parts you want in focus.
Step 4) Save your photo! You're all done.
If you want to make it look more like bokeh photography without any previous preparation in the photo, use the bokeh effect, in our second tab.
Step 1) Upload your photo to iPiccy Photo Editor, the higher the quality the better.
Step 2) In the second tab scroll down to the "Advanced" section and select the "Bokeh" tool.
Step 3) There are numerous options for customization with this tool, you'll have to experiment to get the look you want.
Step 4) Save your photo! You're all done.
Don't Get Carried Away With Bokeh
The Bokeh effect is such a wonderful looking effect that it can sometimes be easy to get carried away with it and use it for everything. Obviously you should experiment and learn with it, but don't lean to heavily on it! Learn when to use it by pausing when you're editing, and asking yourself "Does this effect really make my photo better"?
